Anyone who surfs the web knows that it can take several seconds for some web pages to load into your browser. This is not a significant problem in most cases. TurboPay WorkForce has been designed with performance in mind...


  • ASP.NET source code is "compiled" rather than "interpreted" as it is in classic asp applications. This results in much faster execution and improved security.

  • AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), or Ajax, is a group of inter-related web development techniques used for creating interactive web applications. A primary characteristic is the increased responsiveness of web pages achieved by exchanging small amounts of data with the server "behind the scenes" so that the entire web page does not have to be reloaded each time the user performs an action. This greatly increases the web page's interactivity, speed, functionality, and usability.

  • LINQ (Language Integrated Query, pronounced "link") is a Microsoft .NET Framework component that greatly increases data access efficiency and security.

  • When data is requested from the database, the database connection is opened, the required data is sent to the browser and the connection to the database is immediately closed. This reduces the load on the database server and drastically improves performance. These "Disconnected" record sets represent the cutting edge of data access technology.

  • Application components are inherently disconnected from each other. The browser requests a page from the server; when the server has finished processing and sending the page, it has no further connection with the browser until the next request.

  • Graphics and certain user interface elements (typical to Windows desktop applications) create a significant load on both the server and the client (browser) which slows the application. Although we have designed the interface to provide the best possible user experience, we have minimized elements which tend to degrade performance.

  • Pop-Up windows such as confirmation boxes and message boxes frequently react poorly with pop-up blockers in modern browsers. Therefore, TurboPay WorkForce has been designed to use confirmation buttons and simple linear text messages presented appropriately on the page.
